Many customers rush to get their fireplaces installed before Christmas—but by then, availability is limited and stress levels are high.
Planning ahead means shorter lead times, greater choice of stoves, fireplaces and surrounds and a peace of mind when winter arrives.
Solid Fuel or Gas Fire? Your Flue Needs Planning Too
If you’re considering a solid fuel or gas fireplace, there’s more to think about than just style, design and size. One of the most important elements is your chimney and flue system.
Before installation, it’s essential to book a professional chimney sweep which will supply you with a certificate and ideally to request a Class 2 camera survey.
This ensures your chimney is clean and free from obstructions, structurally sound and safe to use and suitable for a flue liner installation – if your preferred type of fireplace appliance requires one (e.g. a woodburning stove or a glass fronted gas fire).
The chimney survey provides us with vital information like the length of the flue, terminal type, and overall condition, which helps us give a more accurate estimate and avoid any surprises during the installation.
